Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location:
Baltimore, Maryland (M-F in the office- 1 or 2 days remote may be considered after 6 months)
Position Summary:
Experienced and strategic financial leader to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the President, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support the organization's growth objectives and long-term sustainability.
- Provide strategic guidance and financial analysis to senior management and the Board of Directors to inform decision-making and drive business success.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational objectives.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to optimize profitability, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
Capital Management and Investment Strategy:
- Manage the organization's capital structure and investment portfolio to maximize returns and minimize risk.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and potential acquisitions, conducting financial due diligence and risk assessments to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders to secure financing and capital resources as needed.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and assess financial risks facing the organization, developing strategies and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Oversee the internal audit function and coordinate with external auditors to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and accounting standards, implementing changes as necessary to maintain compliance.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, empowering team members to take ownership of their work and develop their skills and capabilities.
- Cultivate strong relationships and effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve shared goals.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of Accounting & Leadership experience.
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. (CPA certification strongly preferred.)
Proficient in accounting software such as NetSuite, CMiC, Foundation, or similar
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary $100,000+ (commensurate with experience will be more)
